OCIA (The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults
The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is the process by which adults respond to God’s call to faith through Catholicism. Through catechetical presentations and reflective discussion of scripture, inquirers study the Church and discern God’s call to faith. Starting in August, formal catechetical sessions are offered on Wednesday evenings. This process of inquiry and discernment culminates in entry into the Church through the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist. The program is intended to be flexible to meet the needs of persons who may have conflicts with scheduled meeting times. Currently, St. Patrick joins the Holy Cross OCIA program on their campus. If you are interested in joining the Catholic church, please contact the parish office at (217) 367-2665.
